Aurora is a study companion for the Ontario G1 knowledge test. It runs in your browser, it is made by a small independent company in Ontario, and the core learning content is free to use.
Every question, answer and explanation in Aurora is written from scratch against the official Ontario Driver’s Handbook. We read the source material and author the questions ourselves.
Nothing here is copied from other test-prep apps, scraped from question banks, or generated without review. When the Handbook is updated, we re-check the affected questions against it. Aurora is still not an official government product, and the Handbook remains the authoritative source.
The G1 test is a first step into driving in Ontario, and it is often taken by people who have just arrived here. Charging for the basics did not sit right with us, so the core learning content is free and there are no ads inside the learning flow. Running the site costs little; that is what makes this workable.
Today Aurora covers the Ontario G1 knowledge test. We plan to extend it to the rest of the Ontario licensing journey.
